Staff & Volunteers
Tabor House is run by a small, core team who work closely with the management committee and volunteers.
Sharon Fear is the Project Manager, employed by Father Hudson’s Care, and is responsible for the day-to-day running of Tabor House. This includes liaising with referral organisations, administering weekly panel meetings, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the project, and supporting the Volunteer Mentors and Shift Leaders.
Derek Clarke joined the team recently, as an Outreach Worker; a post funded by West Midlands Combined Authority. Derek goes out onto the streets of Birmingham to meet those sleeping rough and at risk of homelessness, talking to them and understanding the support needed. He then refers individuals to Tabor House, as well as signposting other key charities, projects and services where needed.
In response to Covid-19, we now offer 24-hour accommodation and rely on volunteers to work shifts and help our team deliver the much-needed support that Tabor House provides.
We are always looking to recruit volunteers from all walks of life, who can get involved with a variety of tasks, so please get in touch if you’d like to find out more.
Tabor House operates 365 nights a year and our volunteer network is at the heart of all we do. Can you cover a shift once a week, fortnight, month, or as and when available, to help keep Tabor House open and provide shelter, food, warmth and much more to help those most vulnerable to lead fulfilling lives?
Sharon McCall is the Volunteer Coordinator for Tabor House, also employed by Father Hudson’s Care. She is responsible for supporting all of the project’s volunteers, as well as managing the rota to ensure the project has sufficient volunteers available for each shift.
